Yes this is also the same honey we drink and eat! Honey lemon tea is my fav! But now lets focus on honey in cosmetic products.
In Australia the most popular type is the Manuka Honey. It is native to Australia and New Zealand and is produced by bees foraging (gathering food/ food source) on the Manuka tree.
Honey is very popular in cosmetic products (skin and hair care) as it has moisturising and conditioning properties. It is an humectant; it locks in and maintains moisture on the skin which is beneficial for people with dry skin. It is also known for its antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant properties . One study showed that it is very effective at the treatment of hair loss and helps improve seborrheic dermatitis (itchy scalp) .
So what do we do now…? Lather on the honey!!
